Kamala Harris has created history by being elected as the first woman vice president of the United States. Harris will be the first Black woman and African American vice president.
Born to a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, Harris is a former attorney general of California. She also becomes the first person of Indian descent to hold the national office in the United States. Joe Biden along with his senate is to be sworn in on January 20, 2021.
After her win in the US elections, a picture showing Kamala Harris clad in Tamilian style saree is going viral on social media. Various narratives have been shared along with this picture.

The claim is FALSE. This is a morphed picture where the face of the lady has been replaced with the face of Kamala Harris.
Reverse image search in Google fetched the original picture which was shared in an article '15 unique styles of how the sarees are draped in different Indian Styles' in a website called Bollywood Shaadis.com, wherein the style of draping saree seen in the viral picture is called Madirasu – Tamil Nadu style of draping.
Madirasu is a traditional drape which was earlier worn by married women of the Iyer community. It has ardhanareeshwara style of draping. It means that the lower half is draped like a dhoti while the upper half looks like a saree.
We also found that this image belongs to Carnatic Music Vocalist Vishaka Hari. She is also an established exponent of Harikatha, otherwise known as a storyteller of Kathakalakshepam.
We can find the picture of Visakha shared on this website, she is wearing the same saree seen in the viral image.
