Fact Check: Viral image of Time cover mocking US President Donald Trump is fake

Hyderabad: On social media, a cover page of a magazine with the title "Time to go" with Donald Trump's silhouette is viral on social media. Users claim it is the cover of `Time' magazine.

The viral image is circulating with the caption, "Loving the Time magazine front cover: #TrumpOut". Novelist and columnist Shobha De also tweeted the graphic.

FACT CHECK

The claim that Time magazine mocked Trump on its cover is false.

NewsMeter searched on the timeline of Time magazine, "The Vault" and found no such cover.

Furthermore, the viral picture does not match with Time's layout. Upon observation, it was found that the magazine has a style of mentioning the date of issue on the top right-hand side and also, "time.com" at the bottom right-hand corner. None of these are mentioned in the viral image.

Evidently, the claim that Time magazine mocked Donald Trump on its cover is false.
