Hyderabad: Amid the upcoming elections for Uttarakhand in 2022, an image of Rekha Arya, cabinet minister of Women and Child Welfare for the Government of Uttarakhand, is circulating on social media with the claim that she has revolted against her party. The image allegedly shows Rekha painting on a pink wall with the text 'Our mistake...Lotus flower'. Netizens claim that Rekha has revolted against the BJP by writing such a thing in public during the preparations for elections.

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found the original picture shared by Rekha on Facebook on 10 October. In the image she shared, the words are 'Ab ki baar 60 paar' are present on the wall.
Similar images of Rekha were also posted by mandal mantri of BJP Dehradun, Krishna Bhuvalka, who captioned the images as, "Today participated in the wall writing campaign with Rekha Arya ji at Peepal Mandi Chowk." Here too the words 'Ab ki baar 60 paar' are seen in place of on the wall instead of 'Our mistake... Lotus flower' as shown in the viral image.
The wall writing campaign was launched by the BJP at booth level in Uttarakhand. According to a news report by the National Frontier, the wall writing program will run from October 7 to October 16 in which at least five walls will be used for campaigning in each booth.
