HYDERABAD: An image of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and PM Narendra Modi is viral on social media. Users claim that Zuckerberg is supporting Modi.

"Hi @MarkZukerberg you are a partner in crime with Modi #RipFarmersRipDemocracy #FacebookJioAgainstFarmers (sic)," reads the message. (archive)

FACT CHECK:

NewsMeter found that the viral image is morphed.

A reverse image search was performed and the original image showed Yogi Adityanath.

According to a report by Economic Times from August 2020, Modi was expected to be joined by RSS Mohan Bhagwat and UP CM Yogi Adityanath for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

According to ABP NEWS, 5 people who would be on stage during the ceremony were - PM Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Mahant Nritya Gopaldas.

The entire video of the ceremony was uploaded on YouTube by India Today with the description "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finished the bhumi pujan rituals and has now taken the stage with Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others being present on the stage".

Therefore, it is clear that the image is morphed. The picture of Adityanath has been replaced by Mark Zuckerberg in the viral image.
