Fact check: Viral post claiming only Muslims were selected by WBPRB is MISLEADING

Fact check:
The viral post is misleading.
The list that is going viral on social media is the list of candidates selected against OBC (Other Backward Class)-A vacancies. The website of the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has two lists for each vacancy (10 lists in total).
One of the lists with a majority of Muslim names has been falsely portrayed that WBPRB has only selected Muslim candidates. The lists of provincially selected candidates under the SC category have 147 names (a total of list 1 and 2 of the SC reservation) and the list under the ST category has 40 names (total of list 1 and 2 of the ST reservation).
Meanwhile, there are 366 names against the UR (Unreserved) category (total of list 1 and 2 of the UR category) and a majority of them are Hindus.

Through the keyword search, we found a report by The Telegraph that quoted the chairperson of the commission Ashim Banerjee. "The West Bengal Commission for Other Backward Classes has recommended to the state government that the Baishnab Bairagi Community be given the OBC-B status. The commission unanimously decided in favor of sending a recommendation to the State Government to include the Baishnab Community in the OBC-B category," he said.
OBCs were classified into two categories. Those who are socially and economically better off are in the OBC-B category and the rest are in the OBC-A category. Baishnab Bairagi community would be included in the OBC-B category if the state cabinet approved the commission's recommendation.
The government will then publish a gazette notification that will make the community a part of the OBC-B category
Lastly, the list of Other Backward Classes, both OBC-A and OBC-B contain a mixture of different religions including many Hindu Communities such as Devanga and Kansari among others.
