Hyderabad: A video of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan distributing placards is viral on social media.
"Petrol Rs 120, Diesel Rs 109, LPG Rs 950," read the placards.
"Diwali gift to the people of Madhya Pradesh from Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Thanks to Chief Minister for the Diwali gift," reads the English translation of the message.

The claim is False.
NewsMeter noticed 'DD Madhya Pradesh' seen at the top right corner of the video. Taking a cue from this, the team did a keyword search and found the original video uploaded on the official YouTube handle of DD Madhya Pradesh on October 20, 2021. The video description reads, "Award Ceremony under Acharya Vidyasagar Jeev Daya Yojana."
At 45:00 minutes, we could see Chief Minister Chouhan distributing awards and cheques. On comparing, it is evident that in the viral video, the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG have been morphed. Also, in the viral video, a Diwali song has also been added in the background.
Further, the fact-checker found that many news articles reported about the same vent on October 20, 2021.
Hence, the claim is false. The viral video is edited.
