Hyderabad: A photo reportedly of Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, the founder of AIIMS, is being widely shared on Facebook.
The text accompanying the photo reads, "She's Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, the Founder of AIIMS. She was India's first Health Minister and 1st Asian to Head the Governing body of WHO. Most of the Indians don't know her. She was a hero, who fought for Freedom & better life of Indians (sic)."

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found that the woman in the photo is Avantika Mehta, writer and creator of 'The Ladies Compartment', and not Rajkumari Amrit Kaur. Avantika had tweeted on 28 June clarifying that she was the woman in the photograph.
She said the photo was part of a shoot she did for a friend's website five years ago. She said she wanted the image to be taken down.
