Hyderabad: An image of a supposed notification by the Railway Recruitment Board announcing vacancies for the posts of sub-inspectors and constables is viral on social media.

“Recruitment for SI and Constables in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force - 4660 Posts #RPF, (sic)” read the caption.

According to the notification, there are 452 vacancies for the sub-inspector post and 4,208 vacancies for the constable post under ‘CEN No. RPF 01/2024 and CEN No. RPF 02/2024.’

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the Railway Recruitment Board notification is fake.

We scanned the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board, Secunderabad, but could not find any official recruitment notification with the same content.

On searching using the CEN dates, we found that the first CEN number (01/2024) is the recruitment notification for Assistant Loco Pilots and the second CEN number (02/2024) has been released regarding the vacancies for Technicians.

Moreover, we also found that the viral RRB notification has also been marked as fake by PIB Fact Check on their X handle.

Moving forward, we also found media coverage on the fake RRB recruitment notification in Times of India, Hindustan Times, Jagran Josh and Times Now.
