FACT CHECK

NewsMeter could not find any evidence to support social media claims.

We started our investigation by checking the official website and official social media handle of FIFA. Amongst several tribute articles, we could not find anything relating to preserving his feet in the museum.

For further clarity, we performed a keyword search for the phrases using keywords but could not find any relevant results from any reliable news source for the same.

Moreover, talking about the family consent, there is again no credible source to back the claim.

However, Pele has already left his footprints with us in the Maracana hall of fame in Rio along with other legends of the game. The magical feet have already been immortalized in his honor.

Therefore, FIFA is not planning to have Pele's feet in its museum.

The claim stands false.
