Social media users are claiming that a woman was booked in Qatar for breaking FIFA regulations.
Amidst the recent England vs. Iran match in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 a post with a woman unhesitantly removing her top and flashing her body at a crowd on a stairway is been shared with a claim that she then got booked for her actions.
As "must not remove items of clothing and reveal intimate body parts" is reportedly the first regulation by FIFA 2022.
Fact check
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip. The search led us to the same clip posted by a 9GAG which is an online platform and social media website based in Hong Kong last year on 16th July 2021 with the caption: "At least this coming home".
Taking a cue from the slogan, we ran a keyword search on google. We found a news report by Hindustan Times that says, "Euro 2020: England will face off against Italy in the final of Euros, and the question in everyone's mind is - 'Is it coming home?"
By this, it is evident that the viral clip belongs to the finals of UEFA Euro 2020.
Moreover, we could not find any media outlet reporting the arrest of any woman for getting topless.
Lastly, we found a report by Zee News that says, "Female fans BANNED from wearing REVEALING clothes and showing body parts, could face jail term in Qatar."
But as of now, no such has been reported.
Hence, the claim is false.
