Former UP CM Kalyan Singh is stable, viral claims about his death are false

Kalyan Singh was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute in Lucknow on July 3, 2021. Kalyan Singh complained of body swelling. His urea and keratinize levels were also reported to be elevated, according to reports.

The claim is False.

NewsMeter tried to visit the website through the link that was put up in the tweet. However, it seemed that the news report was brought down. We also did not find any reports claiming the death of the former chief minister.

We however performed a keyword search and found that a lot of rumors have been doing rounds related to the death of the former UP CM. We found many reports which stated that the condition of Kalyan Singh is stable.

We then found a tweet that was posted on the official Twitter account of Kalyan Singh on July 9, 2021.

According to the tweet, he had requested people not to believe in rumors as his health is getting better.

We then found a report by Zee News Hindi which was published on July 9, 2021. Quoting Kalyan Singh they said his health is improving.

According to the report, leaders including JP Nadda, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, BL Santosh, Radha Mohan Singh, Swatantradev Singh met Kalyan Singh in the hospital. After rumors spread on social media about his health, the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) issued a health bulletin stating that his health is improving.

We also found a tweet from the official account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day. "Countless people across India are praying for the speedy recovery of Kalyan Singh Ji. Yesterday @JPNadda Ji, CM @myogiadityanath Ji, and others went to the hospital to meet him. I just spoke to his grandson and enquired about his health," he said

It is therefore evident that the viral claim is False. Health condition of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is Stable.
