Hyderabad: A video making rounds on social media claims to feature Google CEO Sundar Pichai endorsing an investment platform called ‘QuantumAI.’

The video, which appears to be a promotional advertisement, suggests that Indian citizens can earn substantial returns, with promises of up to Rs 3.5 lakh per month on an initial investment of just Rs 21,000. It further claims that the platform is ‘fully automated’ and designed to provide ‘stable passive income’ for Indians.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The video is a deepfake.

We conducted a keyword search for ‘QuantumAI investment platform Sundar Pichai’, but found no credible news reports, official announcements from Google or verified statements by Sundar Pichai supporting such a platform. While several unauthorised websites use names like QuantumAI, none are affiliated with Google.

Upon close examination of the viral video, we noticed telltale signs of manipulation. Pichai’s facial expressions were unnatural and the lip-sync did not match the Hindi audio. These mismatches are characteristic of AI-generated deepfakes.

The Hindi audio attributed to Pichai also sounded synthetic, lacking the natural cadence of his voice.

To confirm these observations, NewsMeter ran the video through advanced AI detection tools. Hive Moderation’s analysis indicated a 99.9 per cent likelihood that the video contains AI-generated or deepfake content.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to a YouTube video uploaded by Google on May 23, titled ‘Sundar Pichai Opening Remarks | I/O 2025 Keynote.’

The video’s description notes that Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, delivered opening remarks at Google I/O, discussing AI advancements and Google’s vision for the future. The visuals, including Pichai’s attire and background, matched those in the viral clip. However, the original video contains no mention of ‘QuantumAI’ or any investment platform, and Pichai did not speak in Hindi during the event.

This confirmed that the viral video repurposed footage from an unrelated speech, overlaying it with fabricated audio to spread misinformation.

NewsMeter concludes that the claim is false. The video is a deepfake designed to mislead people into believing that Google CEO Sundar Pichai endorsed an investment platform called ‘QuantumAI.’
