Hyderabad: An image of a baby elephant is being shared on social media with many calling it the most beautiful elephant in the world. The elephant is being named Ando.

Social media users can’t stop falling in love with the cute blue-eyed elephant. Meanwhile, some of the comments in the post suspect that the elephant in the image is not real.

NewMeter found the claim to be false as the baby elephant in the viral picture is the star character of the animated movie ‘Dumbo.’

We started our investigation by performing a simple reverse image search. We found the same image uploaded on IMDb. We found both the images in the viral collage in the same website. According to the description, the images of the baby elephant seen in the viral image is actually the star character of the 2019 Disney movie ‘Dumbo.’ (Click here to watch the trailer of the film.)

Dumbo is an American fantasy and adventure film. The story follows a family that works at a travelling circus and encounter a baby elephant with extremely large ears who is capable of flying.

Moreover, we also found the CGI and VFX breakdown of the same character Dumbo on YouTube.

We also found a Facebook post on the official account of Tech 4 Peace, a fact-check organisation from Iraq and Middle-East, that debunked the same image.

It is clear that the image of the cute baby elephant is an animated character from the Disney movie ‘Dumbo’ and not a real baby elephant.
