Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the image is being shared with false information. On performing a reverse image search, we found the same image in a report by Cairo 24 from June 2, 2023. It said that the image shows a man carrying a mannequin on a bike after the owner of a ready-made clothing store requested a transport company to deliver it from their shop to the Mokattam area in Cairo.

Another report by an Egyptian daily ElWatan News said the Ministry of Interior has clarified that the image shows a mannequin being transported from a clothing store to the Mokattam area in Cairo.

We also found the image posted on Facebook by the Egypt-based clothing store BG collection on 30 and 31 May. In the posts, they have said that the man in the image is transferring a mannequin from their Gamal Abdel Nasser branch to Mokattam.

Hence, we conclude that the claim that the image shows a Muslim man carrying a victim of ‘love jihad’ in the sack is false.
