Image of PM Modi handling microscope is AI-generated

An image purporting to show Prime Minister Narendra Modi looking into a microscope incorrectly is going viral on social media.

Social media users have shared the video mocking Prime Minister.

NewsMmeter found that the image was unreal and had been created using the AI tool 'MidJourney'.

On performing a reverse image search, we found ten AI-created images, including the viral one, showing PM Modi in different professions published on the website of The Insane App. The images have been credited to “Sahixd”.

Taking this as a cue, we searched for “Sahixd” on Instagram and found an account with the same username. The user in the bio has described himself as an AI enthusiast and a digital creator.

We skimmed through the user's profile and found several AI-generated images posted by the account. The ten images, including the viral one, were posted by the account on 2 April. It is mentioned in the caption that the images showing PM Modi in the diverse profession were created using MidJourney.

Hence, we conclude that the viral image of PM Modi looking into the microscope incorrectly is unreal and was created using the AI tool MidJourney.
