Hyderabad: An image of trees on a seashore, forming the face of prime minister Narendra Modi has gone viral on social media. Users claim that the image was taken by a French tourist in Karnataka.
A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “A pic clicked by a French tourist near Gokarna (Karnataka). Friends what is your opinion.”
NewsMeter found the image has been generated using AI (Artificial Intelligence) software.
We ran a relevant keyword search and came across a report by Mint of September 23, titled ‘AI-generated image of lonely island resembling PM Modi mesmerizes netizens.’ According to the report, the image was first shared on X by Madhav Kohli, who had earlier also shared mesmerising images created using AI tools.
A Hindustan Times report also mentioned that the image was created by Madhav Kohli. Both reports featured Madhav Kohli’s post on X, captioned “Do you see him too?”
Reacting to the queries of other users, Madhav, in the comment section, clarified that the image was created using the AI tool Stable Diffusion.
Hence, we conclude that the image is not real, and the claim that a French tourist captured the photo that looks like PM Modi is false.
