Claim:The viral video shows Indian Army personnel failing to perform high-risk motorcycle stunts, including jumps and mid-air manoeuvres, during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
Fact:The claim is false. The video is AI-generated and does not depict any real event from the Republic Day celebrations.
Hyderabad: India marked its 77th Republic Day on January 26 with a grand ceremonial parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, showcasing its military strength through missiles, fighter aircraft, newly raised units and weapon systems used during Operation Sindoor. President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, attended the event as chief guests.
Amid extensive coverage of the celebrations, a short video of three clips began circulating on social media, allegedly showing Indian soldiers attempting to perform gravity-defying motorcycle stunts such as jumping off ramps, executing wheelies and mid-air formations during the parade.
However, all attempts end with failure as the army personnel fail to complete the stunt without falling off the bikes.
An X user shared the video with the caption, “Indian Army’s parade: Bikes flying high like Bollywood heroes defying gravity. Reality check: Their defence strategy jumps more loopholes than ramps!” (Archive)
Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The viral video is AI-generated and does not show real stunts from the Republic Day parade.
Were the stunts in the video performed during R-Day?
A review of official live broadcasts and reports from credible media organisations found no evidence supporting the authenticity of the clip.
Extensive real-time coverage by DD News documented every segment of the parade, but the stunts in the claim were not there. The coverage included the traditional motorcycle daredevil display performed by joint teams of the CRPF and SSB. However, the viral clips did not appear in any part of the official broadcast.
Any stunts or the resultant failures would have been reported by news outlets nationwide. This confirmed that the stunts in the video did not happen and might have been artificially created.
Visual analysis of the video
Closer visual examination of the viral video reveals multiple inconsistencies indicative of synthetic generation. The motorcycles and riders appear to hover unnaturally in mid-air, lacking realistic shadows, suspension compression, torque response and landing physics.
One particularly clear anomaly is seen during a fall sequence: while three soldiers are initially riding the motorcycle, a fourth person appears momentarily after the fall—an impossible visual error typical of AI-generated footage.
Analysis using AI tools
To further verify the findings, NewsMeter analysed the clip using AI-detection tools, including Hive Moderation and Deepfake-O-Meter. Both tools flagged the video as AI-generated with high confidence scores.
Source verification
Authentic footage of the motorcycle stunts is available in the official DD News live stream of the 77th Republic Day parade from Kartavya Path. The viral clip does not match any officially documented segment.
Similar versions of the video were found circulating on platforms such as TikTok through Google search results, though several links were unavailable or appeared to have been removed.
The viral video claiming to show Indian Army motorcycle stunt failures at the Republic Day parade is not genuine. It is an AI-generated video that does not capture any real or officially recorded moment from India’s 77th Republic Day celebrations.
Therefore, the claim is false.
