Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The video does not show any incident from the Iran-Israel conflict. Instead, it depicts a gas cylinder explosion incident in Mumbai.
Examination of the visuals
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led to a Reddit post titled “Fire in Dharavi due to gas cylinder,” uploaded about a year ago. The visuals match the viral footage circulating online. (Archive)
Following this lead, a keyword search helped locate an Instagram post shared by The Bharat Post featuring the same video. The caption stated that a fire broke out in Dharavi’s PNGP Colony after gas cylinders exploded inside a truck, causing loud blasts and panic in the area. Thick smoke and flames spread before firefighters brought the situation under control. The post also stated that no injuries were reported.
Further verification led us to a report published by The Times of India on March 26, 2025, titled ‘Mumbai's Dharavi shaken as 20+ LPG cylinders on truck explode.’
According to the report, the explosions occurred around 9:50 pm on March 24–25, 2025, near the Dharavi bus depot on the Sion-Dharavi Link Road adjoining Nature Park in Mumbai. A parked truck carrying more than 20 LPG cylinders caught fire due to leakage from one cylinder, triggering a chain of explosions.
The blasts continued for nearly half an hour, lighting up the night sky as cylinders exploded one after another. Some cylinders were thrown into the air, damaging nearby vehicles and causing panic in the densely populated neighbourhood. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or deaths were reported, although the Mumbai Fire Brigade upgraded the response level to control the situation.
Similar visuals also appear in a video report published by News9 on YouTube titled, ‘Massive Fire Breaks Out in Gas Cylinder Truck on Sion-Dharavi Link Road,’ uploaded on March 25, 2025.
The viral video does not show bombing related to the Iran-Israel conflict. It is an older clip from the gas cylinder truck explosion in Dharavi, Mumbai, recorded in March 2025.
Therefore, the claim is false.
