We also came across another Facebook post with a similar claim, "Breaking: Punjab CM and Congress leader Capt. Amarinder Singh in talks with Amit Shah to join BJP," reads the post

Several of such claims popped up after Amarinder Singh stepped down as the chief minister.
Fact Check:
The claim is false. Viral images of Amarinder Singh meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah are old. They are being shared with false claims.
News Meter conducted reverse image search and came across a tweet by Amarinder Singh himself which stated, "Called on Home Minister @AmitShah Ji to take up with @pid_gov the issue of constructing an overbridge on Ravi for #KartarpurCorridor. My demand for a National Drugs Policy has highlighted the issue & @HMOIndia is working on a detailed & coordinated strategy for Punjab & J&K."
This tweet was posted on June 27, 2019. Hence these images are clearly two years old.

In an article by The Hindusthan Times, we came across the same image. "Amid an escalating threat to the state's security from across the border, Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday asked Union home minister Amit Shah to urgently provide 25 companies of central armed police forces (CAPF) and anti-drone gadgets for the Border Security Force (BSF) for protection against Pakistan-backed terror outfits," reads the article.
The article clearly states that he met the union Home minister while he was the chief minister. This gave us a hint that the image is not a recent one.
Conclusion: Hence the claim is false. Old images of Amarinder Singh meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah are being shared currently with false claims.
