Hyderabad: A video comprising two clips is being linked together with misleading claims.
The first part of the video shows a man setting the Quran on fire. The second part shows a man performing a fire act and accidentally setting himself on fire.
Those sharing the video are claiming that the man in the two videos is the same. Netizens called it "The power of Allah."
Let's find out if the man seen in both videos is the same.
FACT CHECK
NewsMeter ran a keyword search and found the original version of the first video. The YouTube video is titled "The Quran burned outside the Swedish Riksdag" and was published on 4 March 2021. The video description explains, "A Quran was burned when an Islam-critical demonstration was held on Mynttorget outside the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm. The Quran was burned in a tribute to Samuel Paty and to demonstrate constitution (sic)."
In the video, a man can be seen burning the Quran in front of a huge crowd.
We again performed a reverse image search to find the original video of the man performing the fire act. We landed on a tweet by 'Best videos' from 8 August 2022.
We also found a report by News18 about the unfortunate accident. It said, "A daredevil is seen doing the fire breathing act out on the streets in an undisclosed location. As the fire breather's face catches fire due to whatever miscalculation from his side, he is seen bending down on his knees and frantically trying to put it out."
Moreover, if you look at both videos carefully, it is evident that these are two different people.
Hence, the post is misleading.
