Hyderabad: A video that shows a news anchor laughing hysterically is being widely circulated on social media to mock the Pakistan cricket team who were defeated by Zimbabwe by one run in the T20 world cup match played on 27 October.
It is being suggested that the Zimbabwean news anchor laughed while reading the news of Zimbabwe defeating Pakistan.

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found a longer version of the same video on YouTube uploaded by UTV Ghana Online on 31 October 2020. The video is titled "Akrobeto 'Massacres' Names Of Foreign Clubs As He Gives Fixtures From Bundesliga To Italian Serie A." The viral clip appears at the 0.50-time mark.
United Television Ghana Limited (UTV Ghana) is a private, free-to-air television broadcaster in Ghana. Akrobeto, the anchor seen in the video, is a Ghanaian actor, comedian, and TV presenter. He hosts a show called "The Real News" on UTV Ghana.
It is evident that the viral video dates back to 2020. Hence, the claim is false.
