An aerial shot of a crossroad showing people gathering is being shared with the claim that IT employees took up the street in Hyderabad to protest against the arrest of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “In support of Cyberabad producer Nara Chandrababu Naidu IT employees who have taken up huge protest in Hyderabad..”

Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Nandyal on September 9 by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (APCID). He allegedly played a key role in Rs 371 crore Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Scam, where he was named the principal decision-maker in releasing the funds.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The image has been on the Internet since 2022.

Upon a reverse image search, we found the photo posted on Instagram on August 19, 2022, by aerial photographer Srikanth Krishna. In the caption, he mentioned the location of the image—Wipro Circle, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Srikanth Krishna also posted the image on X on August 19. 2022, captioned “Happy World Photography Day”.

NewsMeter has reached out to Srikanth Krishna for more details on the image. The story will be updated as and when he replies.

However, the photo has been on the internet since 2022. Hence, we conclude that it does not show IT employees gathered in Hyderabad to protest against the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu.
