We conducted a reverse image search on several keyframes of the video and found a screengrab on taxonomy website dated September 9, 2023, under the Tags ā€˜J&K celebrates India win. Taking a cue from this, we conducted a related keyword search on Google and found several links to the viral video.

One of the links led us to the Republic World YouTube channel where the same video was uploaded on September 12, 2023. The description of the video reads ā€˜In Jammu and Kashmir, fans of the Indian cricket team have erupted into celebrations following India's emphatic victory in Asia Cup over Pakistan. Fans stormed central Jammu's main square, waving Indian flags and bursting into spontaneous applauseā€™.

We found the same video on YouTube channel JK Media dated September 11, 2023, titled ā€˜Celebrations in Jammu after India Pakistan Matchā€™

Hence, we conclude that the claim that J&K celebrated Sri Lanka's win over Pakistan match is misleading. The viral video is actually from the celebration in Jammu after India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 match on September 10, 2023.
