Hyderabad: Amid reports of Adani taking over 29.18% stakes in NDTV Ltd., rumors of senior NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar resigning began doing the rounds of social media.
A photo of the journalist is being shared with the caption, "Ravish Kumar resigned from NDTV. The man has proved if the conscience is alive, even if the buyer is the king of the country, he will return empty handed. Salute to you Ravish Kumar ji (sic)."
NewsMeter performed a keyword search and found no reports about NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar resigning. However, we found reports of Mr. Kumar confirming that he had not quit NDTV and that the rumors were false.
On 24 August, the senior journalist tweeted that he had not quit NDTV. The Hindi tweet when translated reads, "The point of my resignation is just like the rumor that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to give me an interview and Akshay Kumar is waiting for me at the gate with Bombay mangoes."
