Hyderabad: Social media users have shared a screenshot of a tweet purportedly by Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan. It is being claimed that she criticised the Central government over the hike in the price of gas cylinders.
"The gas cylinders used to cost Rs. 380 when Hindus were sleeping. When Hindus are awakened, the gas cylinders cost Rs. 1,155," reads the English translation of the tweet. (Archive)

Fact Check
NewsMeter searched for the official Twitter account of Kareena Kapoor Khan but could not find any verified account of the actress.
Next, we looked for the handle "@Kareena_kpn1" mentioned in the viral screenshot and found that it is an unverified account. As per the account's bio, it is a fan page of the actress.
We also found that the account had tweeted the viral tweet on 23 December.
Finally, we searched for the verified account of the actor on Instagram and found no such remark on the increased price of gas cylinders.
Also, no media organization had reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan had criticised the government over hike in the price of gas cylinders. Hence, we conclude that the viral screenshot is misleading.
