Karnataka Congress office inauguration: Not only Namaz, but Havan also performed

It is being claimed that only Islamic prayers were performed during the recent inauguration of a Youth Congress office in Karnataka.

The picture is being shared with the text, "Karnataka Youth Congress office. Only Islamic prayers were offered. Where do Hindus stand? This is what makes the opposition turn people away."

On January 31, Mohammed Haris Nalapad took charge as Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) president. The official Twitter handles of both the Karnataka Youth Congress and Haris Nalapad posted pictures of the inauguration. The event took place at the office at the Congress House in Bengaluru. Haris and several Congress leaders including were present.

It should be noted that these tweets also carry pictures of a havan being performed. A havan is a Hindu ritual performed on special occasions by a priest. Other Congress leaders also shared similar images of a havan being performed and congratulated Haris Nalapad.

A report by the New Indian Express carries a picture of Haris Nalapad seated in front of the havan and captioned it: "Youth Congress leader Mohammed Haris Nalapad attends a havan after taking charge as KPYCC president in Bengaluru on Monday."

Several videos from the event were also shared online showing Haris Nalapad performing both havan and Islamic prayers at the event.

Evidently, it is clear that the claim of only Islamic prayers being performed during the recent inauguration is false.
