Hyderabad: A purported e-newspaper clipping allegedly quoting MLC K Kavitha is circulating on social media. According to the clipping, Kavitha said Telangana people didn’t sympathise with her when she was arrested and put in Tihar jail and wouldn’t sympathise if her father and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), or brother, KT Rama Rao (KTR), were arrested.
The excerpts of the interview set in points also mention the ‘Kaleshwaram and Yadadri Thermal Station cases’ and hint at potential arrests of KCR and KTR. It also has Kavitha boasting about ‘being the only one who can lead the BRS party.’
The e-newspaper clipping attributes these remarks to a ‘chit chat’ with the media. The content accuses Telangana citizens of apathy towards the Kalvakuntla family.
An Instagram user shared the clipping with the caption, “Only I have the ability to lead the BRS party....” (Translated from Telugu)

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The e-newspaper and its news are fake.
As with any other e-paper, the ‘Telangana News Today Daily’ clipping featured a headline, key points, a banner with a logo, a date and a link to the article. However, upon clicking the link, we were directed to pages that didn’t work, indicating the links did not exist.
We conducted keyword searches on Google and Bing but found no trace of an e-paper or website for ‘Telangana News Today Daily.’ Furthermore, using Whois, we found that the domain “telangananewstodaydaily” has not been registered.
To verify further, we checked the website of the Office of the Registrar of Newspapers for India for titles like ‘Telangana News Today’ and ‘Telangana News Today Daily.’ Neither of these titles were registered.
Based on these findings, it is evident that the e-paper ‘Telangana News Today Daily’ does not exist, and its newspaper clippings are fabricated.
We also searched Kavitha’s official social media handles and public statements for any record of such remarks; there was no mention of the alleged statements. Her recent posts were primarily about political events and personal activities.
This is not the first time the fake newspaper ‘Telangana News Today Daily’ has been used to spread fake news.
