Top Indian wrestlers VineshPhogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia have been living in makeshift tents at New Delhiās Jantar Mantar for nearly 35 days, protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment.
On May 30, the wrestlers announced that they will immerse their medals in the Ganges as a mark of protest but stopped after Naresh Tikait, a farmersā leader, promised them a solution within five days.
Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false.
We ran a keyword search and found we found Kejriwal has extended support to protesting wrestlers, met them at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, and also urged PM Modi in a tweet to intervene while wrestlers were on their way to dump their medals in the Ganges.
However, we did not find any credible report about Delhi CM announcing the resignation in support of wrestlers.
Further, we found the claim about Kejrwail quitting the CM post in support of wrestlers was first made by a parody Twitter handle, AAP Rajasthan / Mission 2021 / Seats 150 - Parody and username "@18Kishann", on 30 May 2023.
The bio of the handle states, āParody Account of AAP Rajasthan | Not affiliated with any Political Party | All tweets are Satire | Just for Fun | Fan of Arvind Kejriwal.ā

Hence, we conclude that the claim of Arvind Kejriwal resigning from the CM post in support of protesting wrestlers is false.
