Fact Check

NewsMeter verified that the hoarding does not have any reference to beef.

As per our Malayalam fact-checker, the text on the hoarding reads, “I want to know. Are people being killed in the name of food? In this country? At this time? We don’t want old politics.”

For further corroboration, we used Google Lens to translate the Malayalam text into English. “I want to know. Killing in the name of food? In this land? At this time? No need for primitive politics,” reads the translation.

The screenshot below shows the translation by Google Lens.

Hence, we conclude that there is no mention of beef meat in the Congress party’s hoarding and the claim is false.
