Hyderabad: Several Twitter users are claiming that the persons who killed gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed did not raise religious slogans.

On 15 April, gangster and former MP Atiq Ahmed, who was convicted of kidnapping, was shot dead live on TV along with his brother in Prayagraj.

Following this, several social media users are claiming that no religious slogans were raised at the time of the shooting.

All three shooters—Luvlesh Tiwari (22) of Banda, Mohit, alias Sunny, (23) of Hamirpur, and Arun Kumar Maurya (18) of Kasganj—were caught on the spot and the court sent them to 14 days’ judicial custody.

Atiq Ahmed’s assassination took place on live TV. There are a lot of videos from the scene that are enough to clear the debate.

On performing a keyword search, we found the real footage of the murder on the verified YouTube channel of Hindustan Times. The assailants can be heard chanting “Jay Shri Ram” in the first 10 seconds of the video. From this, it is evident that religious slogans were chanted when Atiq Ahmed was murdered.

Moreover, the same was reported by media organisations like Zee News, Hindustan Times, The Telegraph India, and Times Now.
