By Md Mahfooz Alam Published on 14 Oct 2022 2:39 PM GMTHyderabad: A graphic purported to be a survey conducted by the Aaj Tak shows Rahul Gandhi as the most popular leader. The survey, "Mood of the Nation," shows Rahul Gandhi at 52% followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 46%.
Social media users shared the graphic claiming that because of the Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by the Congress party, there is a wave in favour of Rahul Gandhi and that he has broken all records of popularity.
Fact Check
NewsMeter ran a keyword search on YouTube and found a video of a programme by Aaj Tak titled "Aaj Tak Mood of the Nation Poll." It was broadcasted ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election and was published on YouTube on 24 January 2019.
On the poll survey question "Who is PM Narendra Modi's best alternative among the opposition leaders?" Rahul Gandhi leads with 52% followed by Mamta Banerjee at 8%, Akhilesh Yadav at 5%, Arvind Kejriwal at 4%, and Mayawati at 3%.
On the poll survey question "Who will be the next Prime Minister?" PM Modi leads with 46% followed by Rahul Gandhi at 34%.
The graphics of these two poll surveys have been combined to show that Rahul Gandhi's popularity after the Bharat Jodo Yatra has surpassed PM Modi's.
The official Twitter handle of Delhi Congress, on 13 October, also tweeted the morphed graphic and claimed that the mood of the nation is changing. However, the tweet was deleted after Aaj Tak called out Delhi Congress and clarified that they have not conducted any such survey and the graphic is photoshopped. (Archive)

It is evident that the graphic showing Rahul Gandhi as more popular than PM Modi is morphed. Hence, the claim is false.
