On 10 February, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde tweeted several photos from the inauguration event of Aljamea-tus-Saifiya. One of the photos is identical to one of the viral photos but does not show Mr. Modi wearing the prayer cap.

Here’s a comparison of the viral photo and the original photo tweeted by Mr. Shinde.

Mr. Modi also tweeted photos from the event on 10 February. He wrote, “Delighted to join the programme to mark the inauguration of the new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah of the Bohra community.”

The other viral photo, which shows Mr. Modi wearing a Muslim prayer cap, is similar to one of the photos tweeted by the PM but the latter does not show him wearing the cap.

It is evident that the two photos showing PM Modi in a Muslim prayer cap have been morphed. Hence, we conclude that the viral photos are misleading.
