Claim:Muslim man poses as Hindu in 'Love Jihad' case.
Fact:The claim is false. The video is scripted.

Hyderabad: A video claiming to expose a 'Love Jihad' case (a conspiracy theory alleging that Muslim men hide their identity or feign love to marry Hindu women and convert them to Islam) is going viral on social media.

In the video, a man posing as Gaurav, allegedly from the Hindu community, is revealed to be Saleem, in the presence of two men in police uniform.

This video was captioned, “Look...Gaurav turned out to be "Salim". This video on "Love Jihad" is a "mirror of truth" and the sooner Hindu sisters understand it the better. Otherwise the farming will be of Hindus and the seeds will be of "Jihadis".”. (Archive)

Using reverse image search of the viral video keyframes, we found the extended version of the viral video uploaded to YouTube on July 7.

The video is titled, “Gaurav turns out to be Salim, caught by the police!!”. It shows a man introduced as Gaurav, who is later revealed to be Salim, in the presence of two men dressed as police officers. A married couple also appears in the video.

On August 6, the same YouTube channel, Monty Deepak Sharma, uploaded another video featuring the same man. This one is titled, “Salim changed his name and then took the police to the girl’s house”.

This second video again shows the same couple and the two men in police uniforms. However, in this version, the woman refers to the man as her brother instead of her husband.

We found several such videos featuring the people from the viral video in different scenarios. One of the videos is titled, ‘Who is this boy named Salim who threatened the police officer’. Another video title reads, ‘Salim got married by changing his name’.

The YouTube Channel description shared links to Facebook account, Tarun Panghal and Instagram profile of Monty Deepak Sharma.

The Facebook and Instagram accounts also share the same videos. The viral video was shared on Instagram with the caption, ‘Conspiracy to kill husband with Salim’.

The Facebook profile is categorised as ‘Digital Creator’, while the Instagram account reads ‘Reel creator’. All the videos in the profile have the same actors posing as different people in different scenarios.

One such video uploaded to Facebook also contains a disclaimer stating that the video is a work of fiction.
