The nasal inhaler claims to attack body cells that are responsible for weight gain. The viral advertisement recommends the product only to people aged between 30 to 65. The advertisement also shows testimonies that claim that they lost over 33 pounds by using the nasal herbal inhaler.

Is it possible to lose weight with this inhaler and is it FDA-approved? Let’s find out.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found the claim to be false.

Obesity is no wonder one of the biggest health problems in the world. Some people associate it with several related conditions collectively known as metabolic syndrome. This includes high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar and poor blood lipid profile. Obesity is also linked with eating behavior and four lifestyle habits. Overeating is driven by various biological factors like genetics and hormones. The good news is that you can overpower the genetic disadvantages by changing your lifestyle and behavior.

Nevertheless, there are other factors that cause weight gain, obesity or other metabolic functions such as genetics, junk food, food addiction, aggressive marketing of junk food, insulin, certain drugs, sugar intake and leptin resistance.

Our investigation revealed that the viral herbal inhaler is not Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) approved. There are only a few supplements that are FDA-approved anti-obesity medications, which include:

· Orlistat (Xenical, Alli)

· Naltrexone-bupropion (Contrave)

· Phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia)

· Liraglutide (Saxenda)

· Semaglutide (Wegovy)

According to Healthline, ‘Past studies have found that weight loss supplements are health hazards and are not beneficial for weight loss.’

Being overweight is definitely not a disease but let's not glamorise it. The weight welcomes a lot of heart and other serious conditions. It is necessary to be healthy in order to live a healthy life. It is also equally important to choose the right strategy for weight loss. Exercising, a balanced diet and lifestyle is the right way to lose weight. If you want to follow further surgical ways, consult your healthcare expert. Beware of the marketing gimmicks.
