Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is misleading. The viral video of ABP reporting on bail given to Kejriwal is old.

We ran a keyword search and found a report by The Indian Express (Archive) on April 1 with live updates on the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case. According to the newspaper, the Rouse Avenue Court awarded no relief to Delhi CM. He has been sent to Tihar Jail after being remanded to judicial custody till April 15.

NDTV (Archive) also reported after Kejriwal’s Enforcement Directorate custody ended on April 1, a local court sent him to jail till April 15.

Next, we looked for the ABP’s video on YouTube and found it published by the ABP YouTube channel on March 16.

According to the March 16 report of The Hindu, (Archive) Kejriwal appeared in a court on March 16 in connection with the ED’s complaint against him for not complying with the Central agency’s summons for interrogation in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.

The viral video is from March 16. Kejriwal has not been allowed bail after his custody expired on Monday. He has been sent to jail till March 15. Hence, we conclude that an old video of ABP News is being shared with a misleading context.
