Fact Check: No lockdown in Delhi during the G20 summit

The national capital, Delhi is all decked up to welcome Leaders from the world's top economies for the G20 Summit that will be held on September 9-10. Meanwhile, a video is being circulated on social media claiming to show that Delhi will be under lockdown for three days from September 8-10.

NewsMeter found the claim to be false. There is no such announcement by the Central government.
We ran a related keyword search and came across a report by India Today titled ā€œBoys and girls, relax!: Delhi Police clears doubts over lockdown during G20 Summit.ā€
"Delhi Police clearing the speculation of a possible lockdown in the national capital for security reasons, announced that there is no lockdown during the G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9 and 10," the report said.
On September 3, Delhi Police took to X (Twitter) to clarify the rumour. ā€œDear Delhiites, Don't panic at all! There is no lockdown. Just keep yourself updated with traffic information available on @dtpftraffic's Virtual Help Desk.ā€ the official handle of Delhi police tweeted.
In another tweet on September 5, Delhi police clarified that the whole of Delhi is open, but there will be restrictions in the small part of the New Delhi Municipal Committee (NDMC) during the G20 summit.
Delhi Police also posted a video clarifying that essential services like Milk shops, pharmacies, vegetable markets and grocery stores will remain open and Delhi metro will also be plying during the G20 summit. It also advised people to follow the traffic advisory on the

Hence, we conclude there will be no lockdown in Delhi during the G20 summit. The claim is false.
