Hyderabad: As Omicron cases in Telangana continue to rise, netizens are claiming that the state government will soon impose a lockdown or curfew by the end of this month.

Fact Check:

Telangana had not declared a lockdown or night curfew.

The director of public health and family welfare, Dr. Srinivasa Rao, clarified that the government and the health ministry are completely prepared to deal with the Omicron variant and that no lockdown and night curfew will be imposed in the state, under any circumstances.

He said, "The government and the health ministry are fully prepared to deal with Omicron, the third wave. We have already said that there will be no night curfew and lockdown in the state under any circumstances. Once again we make the same point clear. There is no truth in the news coming on social media. We will take strict action against those who spread such false propaganda."
