Fact Check: No, Pak team did not celebrate after Asia Cup 2023 match against India abandoned
The video clip is from 2022 showing Pakistani cricket players celebrating their victory against India during a match in T20 Asia Cup 2022.

Social media is rife with misleading claims after the India-Pakistan match on September 2 in Asia Cup 2023 was abandoned without Pakistan chasing the target set by India. A video of Pakistani players celebrating in the dressing room is viral on social media, with users claiming that the leaked footage shows the celebration of Pakistan’s players after the match was cancelled due to rain.
A Facebook user shared the video with the caption, “Leaked footage from Pakistan dressing room after the match against India was cancelled due to rain.”

Fact Check
The video clip is from 2022 showing Pakistani cricket players celebrating their victory against India during a match in T20 Asia Cup 2022.
On performing a reverse image search on the keyframes of the video, we found the extended version of the video posted on X by the official handle of the Pakistan Cricket Board on September 5, 2022. The caption stated Pakistan players celebrating after a five-wicket victory over India in the Asia Cup 2022.
We also found the video along with a report published by Sportskeeda dated September 5, 2022, titled “IND vs PAK 2022: [WATCH] Pakistan players in the dressing room display raw emotions after thrilling win over India.”
As per the report, Pakistan successfully chased the target of 182 runs in the last over with one ball to spare. After the victory, players in the dressing room went berserk.
Hence, we conclude that the viral clip is part of a 3-minute-long video, which shows Pakistan players' celebrations after defeating India in the T20 Asia Cup 2022 match.
