Old child abuse video from Pakistan shared with communal twist
It is being claimed that the video shows a Muslim man assaulting the child of his Hindu neighbour.

Hyderabad: A disturbing video which shows a man brutally assaulting a child has gone viral on social media. It is being claimed that the video shows a Muslim man assaulting the child of his Hindu neighbour.
A Twitter user shared the video and wrote, āA Hindu left his son with his Muslim neighbour when he went out for some urgent work. The Jihadi (neighbour) assaulted the child and forced him to say Allah Pak.ā (Translated) (Archive)

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the video is from Pakistan and there is no communal angle.
On performing a reverse image search of the videoās keyframe, we found the screenshot of the video tweeted by a Twitter user on 8 July 2022. She said that the video is from Orangi in Karachi, Pakistan.
Taking a cue from this, we ran a keyword search and found the stills from the video in a report published by Pakistanās Geo TV on 6 July 2022. It said that the viral video is from the Orangi Town area of Karachi and shows a father torturing his 8-year-old son for waking him up from sleep. The accused (father) was arrested after a complaint was filed by the childās mother.
Pakistanās Ary TV also reported the incident on 6 July 2022 and published the viral video. It said the accused, Ismail, a father of three, tortured his eight-year-old son like a madman for disturbing his sleep. The report also said the viral video was filmed by the childās mother, Jameela, and the incident took place in Orangi Town in Karachi.
In another article, Ary TV reported that the accused Ismail, who was hiding, was arrested by the Karachi police.
We also found a tweet by the Karachi police from 6 July 2022 that said the accused, Ismail Ould Ibrahim, was arrested and handed to the investigating authorities for further legal action.
It is evident that the video of child abuse is from Pakistan and there is no communal angle. Hence, we conclude that the claim that the video shows a Muslim man assaulting the child of his Hindu neighbour is false.
