Old food serving video at TRS event passed off as BJP programme

A video of people eating food from cardboard pieces has gone viral. Users pointed out that food BJP served food on cardboard pieces.

The user said, 'What else can we expect in the BJP program where there is no value for the poor?'

NewsMeter performed a Reverse Image Search with the keyframes of the viral video. The search led us to a tweet by a journalist, Charan Teja, on 27th October 2022.

The tweet apparently reports the event to be an event organized by TRSin Munugode Bye-poll. The same tweet alleges TRS to be ignorant towards people from the lower castes.

The tweet reads, "Ahead of Munugode by-poll, these men & women were served meals on carton straps (attalu) at Golla-Kuruma caste meet organized by the TRS. It shows the practice of caste, similarly lower castes are treated without any dignity in rural dominant caste people functions.'

Moreover, we also found a tweet by the BSP president, Dr. RS Praveen Kumar who posted the same video expressing his disappointment on the event.

Lastly, we found a report on the event by The Siasat Daily that says: "BSP leader RS Praveen Kumar slammed the ruling TRS following a video that surfaced from an event where people of the Golla-Kuruma (shepherd) community can be seen eating food served on cardboard pieces."

It is evident that the viral video is nowhere related to BJP. The video is from the TRS event.

Hence, the claim is false.
