The claim comes after Israeli police raided the Al-Aqsa mosque for the second time on Wednesday, hours after their first raid with hundreds of Palestinians getting arrested.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the image, claiming to be an Israeli attack inside the Al-Aqsa mosque, is from 2022.

On performing a reverse image search, we found the viral image in a video published on April 30, 2022. The video is titled Zionists Changing the Al Aqsa Status Quo - The Struggle.

We also found the image posted by a Twitter user Ramy Abdul on April 22, 2022.

Next, we found the image in a Danish news report of April 29, 2022. As per the description, the image is from April 22, 2022, and shows Palestinians lying on the floor of the Holy Al-Aqsa mosque with their hands tied behind them. The photo has been credited to Rizwan Shafiqa.

The report said during the holy month of Ramadan last year, Israeli forces were provoking and attacking worshipers daily at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.

As per a Reuters report of April 29, 2022, nearly 300 Palestinians were injured in Israeli incursions at the Al-Aqsa compound.

We also came across a video tweeted by Al Jazeera's Mubasher on April 15, 2022. It shows visuals of forces firing tear gas and also handcuffing people inside the Al-Aqsa mosque.

Hence, we conclude that the viral image dates back to April 2022 and does not show the recent raid by Israeli police inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The claim is misleading.
