several social media users have shared the videos and images on social media claiming that the visuals are from the devastating floods in Libya.
A Facebook user has shared a video showing several buildings, roads, and other structures washed away due to the floods.
The video is captioned āAnother footage from Libya. Heartbreaking Tropical Storm Daniel exploded in North Africa_ causing flooding and havoc in Libya. Cities Disappeared, Thousand Death! Storm Daniel Destroys Libya!ā.

NewsMeter found the video old and unrelated to the Libya floods.
We conducted a reverse image search on one of the keyframes and found several links carrying the same video.
In a CNN show, we found the same video captioning āAt least two people are presumed dead and 20 people are still missing, after a giant mudslide swept away homes in the city of Atami, in Japan's Shizuoka prefectureā.
Another link carrying the viral video led us to a report published by Life dated July 4, 2021, stating that āHuge landslides have destroyed dozens of houses in Japan. Since early Saturday, July 3, heavy rain has lashed parts of the country's Pacific coast. Two people died and about twenty more are missing.ā
Similarly, The Japan Times has also published a report carrying a screenshot of the same video clarifying that the video is from Japan. The report was published on July 12, 2021.
