Fact Check:

NewsMeter conducted a reverse image search with relevant keywords and found, the same images posted on Facebook and Twitter, at least since August 2020. According to those posts, the three people killed were involved in protests in Bengaluru in August 2020.

Further, we discovered several articles about the 2020 incident. A largely Muslim crowd gathered in Bengaluru to protest an alleged blasphemous Facebook post insulting Prophet Muhammad made by a local politician. As the mob set fire to vehicles and attacked police officers, the officers opened fire on the crowds, killing three people and injuring many more. The rioting began after a large crowd gathered outside the politician's home as well as a police station in Bengaluru. The relatives of the three people killed, on the other hand, claimed that they were simply bystanders caught in the crossfire.
