Claim: The video shows AAP leader Sanjay Singh in an argument with police after his release from jail on bail.
Fact: The video shows police stopping Sanjay Singh from entering Varanasi city foiling his bid to carry out Tiranga Yatra in 2021.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh was released on bail from Tihar Jail on April 2. He had been incarcerated for nearly six months in a money laundering case related to now-defunct liquor policy.
Against this backdrop, a video showing Singh in an argument with police for manhandling a person has been in circulation on social media. Those sharing the video suggest it is recent after his release from jail. (Archive)

NewsMeter found that the claim is misleading as it dates back to 2021.
Upon a reverse image search of the videoās keyframe, we found it on X, posted by the official X handle of AAP Uttar Pradesh on October 21, 2021. According to the caption, the video shows Singh being stopped while taking out Tiranga Yatra. (Archive)
We also found the extended version of the video published by Navbharat Times on October 21, 2021, titled āSanjay Singh Detained In Varanasi.ā
According to the description, Singh was stopped by the police while entering Varanasi city to join the Aam Aadmi Party's Tringa Yatra, which led to a heated argument between Singh and the cops.
A report published by The Times of India (Archive) on October 22, 2021, also stated Singh was stopped by the police form to enter Varanasi foiling his bid to carry out the Tiranag Yatra without the permission of the administration.
Hence, we conclude that the viral video of Sanjay Singh in an argument with the police is old.
