Social media are circulating a video claiming that Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram thanked his fans for their love and support after he was discharged from the hospital.

The claim is false.
NewsMeter conducted a keyword search for "Chiyaan Vikram thanks fans birthday" on YouTube. We found a video uploaded by verified channel Reel Petti on April 18, 2017, with the caption 'Chiyaan Vikram thanks his fans on his birthday.'
A few seconds into the video, we found the keyframes same as the viral one. In the video, we can see Vikram thanking his fans. The actor can be heard saying in the video, "Hi, people. Oh my god! So much affection, so much love..... This is my best birthday yet, and thanks for everything......"
We also searched the social media of the actor and found that the same video was uploaded on Instagram on April 17, 2017.
Furthermore, we found another video uploaded on YouTube by the verified channel IndiaGlitz Tamil on April 18, 2017, with the title 'Vikram overwhelmed: thanks fans for the love and support | Birthday celebration, Sketch Movie.'
"Chiyaan Vikram's Dhruva Natchathiram second teaser was released on the eve of Vikram's birthday (17th April). The actor, who was overwhelmed by the response from his fans took to Instagram to thank his fans for their love. Further shared a video thanking his fans for their love and support," read the description of the video.
Hence, the claim is false.
