Fact Check

NewsMeter noticed that the pink scarves used by another group might be of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Further, we looked for another clue in the video and found a board of Jangaon Traffic police.

On searching, we found that Jangaon is a town in Telangana.

Taking these cues, we ran a keyword search of the "clash between BJP and TRS workers" in Jangaon. We found a video of TV9 Telugu from 9 February 2022.

OneIndia News, on 10 February 2022, published the same video. "Telangana Row: TRS and BJP workers clash during an anti-Modi protest in the state." reads the video title.

We also found an article by The Hindu published on 9 February. It reported that the tension prevailed at Jangaon district headquarters, where BJP and TRS leaders clashed using flag sticks. It also reported that the "BJP cadre was being chased by the TRS activists, and police were unable to control the agitators from both sides."

During the investigation, we also found that the same video was viral in the past with false claims of violence against the BJP worker in Uttar Pradesh. The fake claim was then debunked by India Today.

Therefore, it is evident that the video dates back to February 2022. It is related to a clash between BJP and TRS workers from the Jangaon district of Telangana.

Hence, the claim is false.
