Fact Check:

The claim is false.

NewsMeter did a reverse image search of the image of the keyframes extracted from the video. We found that the video was uploaded on a Youtube channel 'Mithoon Payyoor ,' on 15 August 2018. The title of the video read, "Bharathapuzha Pattambi bridge overflow."

NewsMeter also found a press release posted on Muhammed Muhassin Facebook. The press release was shared along with a caption, when translated, it read, "Malampuzha dam shutters likely to open. Information from District office ā€“Palakkad."

Taking it as a clue, we found a report that Dam shutters were opened on 16 July 2022. People on the banks of Mukkaipuzha, Kalpathipuzha, and Bharathapuzha (Nila river) were asked to stay vigilant after the rise in the water level, read the report. Since then, people started circulating the old video as a recent.

Further, we found a Tweet by ANI, that posted pictures of Pattambi bridge on 9 August 2019. The images looked similar when we compared them with the viral video keyframes.

The caption of the tweet read, "Kerala: Traffic movement, through Pattambi bridge, stops. The bridge is flooded as Bharathappuzha river is overflowing.

We found many articles on the condition of the Pattambi bridge after the floods and all of them were uploaded during 2018-19.

According to The Hindu report on 9 August 2019, "Most rivers in the district, particularly the Bharatapuzha, the Kalpathipuzha, and the Kunthipuzha, were overflowing dangerously. Those living on the banks of the rivers have been asked to move to safer places."

However, heavy rains indeed continue to lash Kerala and some educational institutions in some parts of the state have declared holidays. But, we didn't find any credible media outlet reports
