Fact Check

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search of the video's keyframe and found a longer version of the same video published by the verified channel VTV Gujarati News in 2019. The Gujarati title of the video stated that locals were protesting against Patel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

AnotherYouTube channel published the same video in 2019 titled "Hardik Patel grilled by morning walkers in Ahmedabad's Prahladnagar garden."

The description of the video stated: "Congress leader Hardik Patel and another Congress leader Alpesh Thakor were at Prahladnagar garden in the western part of Ahmedabad to give a TV interview to Gujarati news channel TV9 Gujarati when morning walkers present choose to confront Hardik Patel and asked him questions and hurled barbs."

Patel left the Congress party in June 2022 and joined the BJP saying he wants to work under PM Modi as a 'small soldier'.

It is evident that the video is old when Patel was a member of the Congress Party. Hence, the claim is false.
