A video showing a collision between two trains is going viral on social media. Those sharing claims it shows the recent train accident in Balasore, Odisha.

NewsMeter found that the viral video dates back to 2019 and is from Hyderabad.
On performing a reverse image search of the videoās keyframe, we found it tweeted by India Today on 12 November 2019. It said that CCTV capture shows the collision of two trains at Kacheguda, Hyderabad.
On 12 November 2019, NDTV published a video report showing the same visual on its YouTube Channel titled āHyderabad Head-On Collision Caught On Camera, Train Lifted Off Tracks.ā
As per the description, the video shows the CCTV footage of two trains colliding near Hyderabadās Kacheguda Railway Station. It also mentioned two people were injured, and rescue teams had to cut through tonnes of wreckage to get to the loco pilot trapped in one of the trains.
An Indian Express report from 12 November 2019 said six coaches of the MMTS and three coaches of the Hundry Express were affected in the collision, according to a statement by South Central Railway. The accident happened due to a signalling error, which resulted in the switching of tracks and a collision between the two trains.
Hence, we conclude that the viral video does not show the recent train accident in Balasore, Odisha and the claim is false.
