Fact Check: Old video shared as behind-the-scenes from Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan

Hyderabad: Social media users are sharing a video of a person performing a stunt on a building with the claim that the video is a leaked scene from Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film, Jawan.

An X blue user by the handle name Sahir shared the video with the caption, “#Jawan Leaked Action Scene… We are not ready for the Mass + Class Action sequences of #Jawan ANGAAR HAI BOSS. (sic)”

Jawan’s trailer was released by the makers on August 31. The film is set to hit the big screen on September 7. Directed by Atlee, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.

NewsMeter found that the viral clip shows a stunt being performed by artist Mansoor Ali Khan for a Bengali film called Bagh Bandi Khela.

While skimming through the comments on Sahir’s post, we found a user, Rahul Paul, saying that the video shows an action sequence from a Bengali film. He also said that the person performing the stunt was Mansoor Khan, a stunt double.

With this cue, we looked for Mansoor Khan’s Instagram account and found the video posted on August 18, 2023. Mansoor, in the caption, stated that he performed the stunt in 2018 on Cat Tower in Bangkok for the film Bagh Bandi Khela.

In the bio of his Instagram account, Mansoor described himself as a stunt performer (stunt artist/stunt double) for Bollywood movies.

According to news reports, Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house of Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan, has filed a complaint with the Mumbai police after stolen video clips from Jawan were shared on X. However, our investigation found that this viral video is not linked to Jawan.

Hence, we conclude that the viral video does not show Shah Rukh Khan and is not leaked footage of the movie Jawan. The claim is false.
